| Porcelain veneers require the treated tooth or teeth to be lightly trimmed to create a roughened surface that the veneer can adhere to, often a local anaesthetic is required. Remember we are experts in treating nervous patients, so please let us know if you are at all concerned about coming to the dentist. |
 |
| Dental Crowns (including our CEREC crowns) are treatments for severe decay, which means the tooth must be cleared of all decay and bacteria before the crown can be placed, our Ozone Minimally Invasive Dentistry treatment is excellent for doing this.. This is a more extensive procedure and would require more local anaesthetic than veneers. |

When can veneers help?
|
Here is a short list of where dental veneers from our cosmetic dental practice can help:
- Crooked teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Dark Teeth
- Yellow Teeth
- Teeth that you don’t like the shape of i.e. pointed teeth or ‘peg laterals’
|
| Veneers are hand crafted ultra – thin individual coverings made by a skilled technician, the material used is a special dental ceramic. This ceramic is made from the basic constituents of granite (feldspar and quartz), but is highly translucent and tooth like, this means the veneers look totally natural yet have the highest strength possible. Once bonded to the tooth, the veneer become even stronger and is natural looking and long lasting. This will give the benefit of making your teeth straight and easier to clean, as well as improving the overall appearance. |

 |
| Also, make sure you look after your teeth properly. You should spend at least two minutes every morning and night on your brushing and flossing routine. |
 |
| Watching what you eat can help reduce your risk of tooth decay, too. Some of the bacteria in our mouths love the sugars and starches found in foods. They turn these into acid, which causes decay. Limiting your intake of sugary and starchy foods helps to prevent tooth decay and the need for dental treatment. |
